Do you build websites for Maitland businesses?

Yes. We build websites for trades, shops, salons and local services all over the Maitland area:

Central Maitland, East Maitland, Rutherford, Thornton, Lorn, Morpeth, Metford, Chisholm and Aberglasslyn.

We can meet at your place or at our office in Newcastle, or talk it through on the phone.

Why does Maitland's growth matter to your business?

Maitland is growing fast. In the five years to 2023–24, its population grew by 12.67%. Over the same years, Lake Macquarie grew by 6.48% and Port Stephens by 5.81%. So Maitland grew about twice as fast as its neighbours.

Council says the city has now passed 100,000 people. Its State of our City report found that about six new people moved to Maitland every day in 2023. The council area also has 5,742 active businesses.

People who have just moved here don't know which plumber, mechanic or hairdresser to call. They have no one to ask yet, so many will look online first. What they find is your website and your Google reviews.

What did Google show when we searched for Maitland trades?

On 30 October 2026 we searched Google from Maitland for eight everyday services: plumber, electrician, builder, landscaper, painter, hairdresser, mechanic and cleaner. Each time, Google showed a map with three businesses at the top. We checked where each one's "Website" button went.

Google reviews for the middle business85
One set of searches, on one day, from one place. It shows which businesses Google picked, not why it picked them.

Almost every business Google showed already had a website. So in Maitland, a website alone won't make you stand out. Reviews will.

  • The plumbers and electricians in the top three had between 85 and 287 reviews each.
  • The mechanics had between 116 and 393.
  • Only 2 of the 24 businesses had fewer than 10 reviews. Both were cleaners.

We ran the same check in Charlestown and Nelson Bay. The middle business there had 33 and 34 reviews. In Maitland it had 85.

I already have a website. Why am I not in the map?

Google's help page says it picks map results using three things:

  • Relevance: how well your business matches what someone searched for.
  • Distance: how far you are from the person searching, or from the place they typed in.
  • Prominence: how well known your business is. Google says this includes your reviews, your star rating and links to your website from other sites.

Your website helps with the first and the last. It can't change where you are, and it can't collect reviews for you. Here's what it can do:

  • Give each service its own page, so Google knows exactly what you do.
  • Name the Maitland suburbs you work in, in plain words.
  • Make it easy to leave a review, with a link you can text to happy customers.

Only ask real customers for reviews. Don't pay for them or offer anything in return, because Google's rules don't allow it.

We can't promise anyone a spot in the map, and nobody honest can. Google says there's no way to pay for a better local ranking.

Where else can Maitland businesses get listed?

A website works best when a few good listings point to it. Maitland has some useful ones:

  • The Levee: Maitland City Council's directory for businesses in Central Maitland, on and around High Street. Each listing shows your phone, email, website and social links. Ask council what it costs to be listed.
  • Maitland Business Chamber: members get a page on the chamber's website. When we searched "plumber maitland", a member's chamber page came ninth in Google's normal results, under the map.
  • Business Matters: council's monthly email with grants, events and advice. Council also has a Business Development Officer who meets with local businesses.

How do we get started?

  1. Call or send the form. Tell us what you do and which suburbs you work in.
  2. We send a written plan: the pages, what each one is for, and a fixed price.
  3. You click through a draft on your own phone before anything goes live.
  4. We launch it, connect it to Google, and hand over every login.
