Web Design Central Coast: Small Business Websites From $830, Built in Newcastle

We're Hunter Web Studio, a web design studio on King Street in Newcastle. We build websites for trades, shops and salons on the NSW Central Coast, from Gosford and Erina to Wyong and The Entrance. Prices start from $830, with no GST added.

What does a website cost on the Central Coast?

Ours start from $830. There's no GST on top, because we're not registered for GST. You get a fixed quote before any work starts.

On 30 October 2026 we read ten Central Coast web design pages that rank on Google. None of them listed a price. Most asked you to call or book a chat. That's fine, but whoever you talk to, ask for a written fixed quote that lists every page.

See what each of our prices includes, or read what a website costs in Newcastle and the Hunter.

How long does a website take to build?

Our small sites usually take 2 to 4 weeks from the go-ahead, and bigger sites 4 to 8 weeks. The usual hold-up is content: photos, and the details only you know.

The Central Coast designers who publish a timeframe gave anything from 21 days to 8–12 weeks. Bigger sites with more pages take longer, so compare like with like.

Do Gosford businesses need a website to show up on Google?

On 30 October 2026 we searched Google from Gosford, on a phone, for eight everyday services: plumber, electrician, builder, landscaper, painter, hairdresser, mechanic and cleaner. We checked where each map listing's "Website" button went.

Google's map results for 8 searches in Gosford, 30 October 2026
Businesses Google showed24

Linked to a directory or booking page instead0
No website at all2
Google reviews for the middle business34.5
The middle figure falls between two businesses, so it is shown as 34.5. One set of searches, on one day, from one place.

Every plumber, electrician, builder, landscaper and mechanic Google showed had a website of its own. The three without one were a painter, a hair salon and a cleaner.

Why do some Coast businesses show up above others?

Reviews make a big difference here. We ran the same check in Cessnock on the same day. Here's how the two compared:

CessnockGosford
Businesses with their own website19 of 2321 of 24
Google reviews for the middle business1734.5
Middle business, trades and home services only1230

So a Gosford business in the map had about twice as many reviews as one in Cessnock. On the Coast, a new business is up against competitors who already have a website and dozens or hundreds of reviews.

Google says it ranks map results by relevance, distance and prominence, and reviews are part of prominence. A website helps in a few ways:

  • A page for each service, so Google knows exactly what you do.
  • The suburbs you work in, written on the page.
  • A review link you can text to happy customers.

We can't promise anyone a spot in the map. Google says there's no way to pay for a better local ranking.

I'm a builder or tradie on the Coast. What should my site show?

About 1 in 4 registered businesses on the Central Coast is in construction: 6,502 of 26,266 in 2023. So if you're a builder or tradie, you have a lot of company. Your site should make it easy to pick you:

  • your name, licence number and the type of work it covers. NSW rules require these in ads, websites included, for most building and specialist trade work
  • the parts of the Coast you work in, from Woy Woy to Wyong
  • photos of real jobs, not stock photos
  • a short quote form and a phone number you can tap

Why use a Newcastle studio instead of a Coast one?

You don't have to. The Coast has good local studios, and some have been around for 20 years or more.

Here's what we do differently: our prices are on our website, there's no GST added, and you get a written fixed quote before any work starts. We can meet at your place, at our office in Newcastle, or on a video call.

Which parts of the Coast do you work with?

Gosford, Erina, Terrigal, Kincumber, Woy Woy, Umina Beach, Tuggerah, Wyong, The Entrance and Toukley. That's the NSW Central Coast, not the Central Coast in Tasmania. If you're around Morisset or Swansea, see our Lake Macquarie page.

The Central Coast council area has 354,803 people and 26,266 active businesses.

Is there free help for Central Coast businesses?

  • Council's Business Support Team: email business@centralcoast.nsw.gov.au, and sign up for council's business newsletter.
  • Grant Finder: council's tool for finding grants.
  • Façade Improvement Support Program: a pilot for businesses in the Gosford, Terrigal, The Entrance, Toukley, Woy Woy and Wyong town centres. Council says the 2025 round has closed.

How do we get started?

  1. Call or send the form. Tell us what you do and which parts of the Coast you cover.
  2. We send a written plan: the pages, what each one is for, and a fixed price.
  3. You click through a draft on your own phone before anything goes live.
  4. We launch it, connect it to Google, and hand over every login.

Quick answers

How much should I pay a web designer?

It depends mostly on how many pages you need and who writes them. Ours start from $830, with no GST added. Whoever you choose, get a written fixed quote that lists the pages.

Can I build my own website for free?

Yes, with a builder like Wix. The free plans put the builder's name in your web address and show its branding, so you'll need a paid plan to use your own domain. It costs time instead of money.

Do I own the website?

Yes. The domain is in your name, and you get every login on launch day.
