Best Web Design Newcastle: 21 Hunter Studios Compared, With Prices Where Published

There's no single best web designer in Newcastle. It depends on what you need. Below are the 21 Hunter web design businesses Google showed for Newcastle web design searches on 30 October 2026, listed A to Z, with what each one builds on and its prices if it publishes them.

How did we pick these web designers?

We used one rule. A business is on this page if, on 30 October 2026:

  • Google showed it on page 1 or 2, or in the map, for "web design newcastle" or "website design newcastle", or for one of three "best" and "agencies" searches, and
  • its own website shows an address or suburb in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland or the Hunter.

Some businesses rank for Newcastle searches but are based in Sydney, the Central Coast, Hobart or Port Macquarie. They're not on this list. We list everyone A to Z, so nobody pays for a spot and nobody is put first. We followed the ACCC's guide for comparison sites: say who you are, explain how you chose, and date everything.

Which Newcastle web designers show their prices?

Seven of the 21 show current website prices on their own site:

StudioCheapest website shownMonthly hosting or careGST

ClickkSingle page from $2,750$39 or $70 a monthPlus GST
Full Circle CreativeFrom $997 (one-day site), Starter $2,599Offered, price not shownNot stated

Method MarketingFrom $1,500 (5–8 pages)Not shownNot stated
Redcat DigitalLanding page $1,500Not shownNot stated

Redback Solutions gave price ranges in a blog article from November 2023, which is too old to compare. The other 13 don't show website prices on the pages we checked. Only Clickk said its prices were plus GST. The rest didn't say either way, so ask before you compare.

How big is each studio?

It ranges from one person to a team of 30. Neither is better. It depends on how much help you want and who you want to deal with.

  • One designer: Full Circle Creative, Trek Web Design, and Redcat Digital (which appears to be one designer).
  • Small teams: Kazam Creative (two people), HyperWeb ("a small team") and Clickk (seven in-house staff).
  • Larger agency: Redback Solutions, which says it has a team of 30.
  • Not stated: the other 14.

Some studios have been around a long time. Redback started in 1999, HyperWeb in 2000, Jezweb in 2002, Bounce in 2003 and Design Bug in 2009.

What do Newcastle web designers build websites on?

Mostly WordPress. We checked what each studio's own website runs on:

  • 15 of the 21 run on WordPress.
  • 1 runs on Squarespace (Redcat Digital).
  • 1 runs on Craft CMS (Newism).
  • For 4 we couldn't tell. One of those, Trek Web Design, says it builds on WordPress.

Why it matters: if you want to change your own text and photos later, ask what your site will be built on and whether you'll get a login to edit it. A studio's own site doesn't always match what it builds for clients. Method Marketing says it also builds on Shopify, Squarespace and Wix, and Inspire uses Wix for its online shop package.

Which one fits my business?

Going only on what each studio says about itself:

  • You need an online shop: Bottrell Media, Clickk, HyperWeb and Kazam Creative all say they build them.
  • You're in health or wellness: Design Bug focuses on branding and websites for that industry. Trek Web Design builds for medical and psychology practices.
  • You want Squarespace: Redcat Digital.
  • You'd rather pay monthly than upfront: Inspire Web Design.
  • You want one designer from start to finish: Full Circle Creative or Trek Web Design.
  • You need a big team, or it's government or education work: Redback Solutions.
  • You want ads and SEO from the same place: Geek Media, Rhythm Design & Marketing and The Marketing GP.

What should I ask before I pay a web designer?

These questions come straight from what we found while checking these 21 sites:

  • Is that price plus GST? Only one studio said. On a $2,750 site, GST adds $275.
  • What does it cost each month after launch? The care and hosting prices we found ran from $15 to $70 a month, and most studios don't show theirs.
  • Can I edit it myself? Ask what it's built on, and whether you get a login.
  • Who will I deal with? With a one-person studio, you talk to the designer. With a team, ask who your contact is.
  • Is the domain in my name? If it's in the designer's name, moving later gets harder.

Quick answers

How much does a website cost in Newcastle?

Of the Hunter studios that publish prices, most small business sites started between $880 and $2,750 when we checked on 30 October 2026. Corporate sites started from $25,000 plus GST. The price moves with the number of pages, who writes the words, and whether you need an online shop.

Is a local web designer better than an online one?

Not always. A local designer can meet you in person and knows the area. An online one may cost less. Either way, check who owns the site and what it costs each month after launch.

What does "plus GST" mean on a quote?

It means 10% GST is added on top. So $2,750 plus GST costs you $3,025. If a price doesn't say either way, ask before you compare.

Is AI replacing web designers?

AI tools can now build a rough first draft of a website. You still need real photos, your own details, and someone to keep the site fast, safe and up to date.
